This month the Spellbloggers here at Spellbinders™ Paper Arts have up-cycling on our minds. Stacey Caron kicked off the month by showing us how to make everyday items special using Spellbinders die templates with her up-cycled lamp project. Julie refurbished bottles and made them fab, while Holly personalized a frame that is as cute as a button. For my project this week I made a Luminary by creating a decorative sleeve for an ordinary vase using the new Spellbinders Edgeabilities® die templates.

I like the idea of making a sleeve, which is removable, rather than embellishing the vase with items that may be more permanent. Now I have the freedom to change the look or purpose of the vase to suit any occasion.

The following video tutorial demonstrates how I created the designs on my luminary sleeve using Decorative Inserts from various sets of Edgeabilities.
Last year Holly made this gorgeous Witches Brew Hurricane Lamp. It has the cutest surprise hidden when the lights dim and the candles are lit...

Candles seem to always create a special ambiance, especially as our evenings get longer and cooler. I hope we have inspired you to create something magical with your candles this week.
Hugs
