Grand Dahlia with Edgeabilities   Tuesday, February 21, 2012
by Julie Overby   Post Type: Card

I love mixing and matching clothes, jewelry, pattern paper and Spellbinders™ Edgeabilities® die templates!  I can believe how many different looks you can get from just a few die templates.  Not only is it a lot of fun making cards with them but you can decorate with them like Holly did on her gorgeous Paper Cake tutorial!

Grand Dahlia Card by Julie Overby

One great thing about Edgeabilities is that after you cut them out, you can use them on a shape card like I did on my Grand Dahlia card by cutting the edges with the shaped die template.  Let me show you how I did it!

Spellbinders Paper Arts Supplies:

Other:

glitter, stamp

1)  To make the card base, fold a piece of cardstock and tape it to the cut side of the Grand Dahlia.  All the edges should be covered with the exception of two petals.  This is where the fold will be.

2)  Cut/emboss/ink a piece of pattern paper from the same size Grand Dahlia and adhere to card base.

3)  Tape together Classic Decorative Inserts TwoClassic Decorative Inserts Five, and Classic Edges Two Edgeabilities® die templates.  Cover with a piece of white cardstock and cut/emboss it using the Grand Calibur®.

4)  Once you have a die cut strip of Edgeabilities, lay it on the cut side of the Grand Dahlia and cut/emboss to form the exact edges.  Do the same with a coordinating piece of pattern paper.

5)  Line up pattern paper strip to fit the side of the Grand Dahlia and adhere to card.

6)  Cut a blue strip of pattern paper and adhere to the back side of the Edgeabilities die cut.  Adhere on to card.

7)  Cut/emboss Aster Flower Topper, Layered Flowers and Bitty Blossoms.  Roll the Bitty Blossom and add glitter and pearl.  Layer all four flowers and adhere to card.

8)  Stamp sentiment and cut/emboss with Ribbon Banners.  Use foam squares to adhere to card.  Add pearls to embellish.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by the blog and take a look at my card!  I sure hope you were inspired!

Stacey Caron   Read Stacey Caron's blog feature, Happy Memorial Day

When I travel the world, I am reminded of how truly awesome the United States is and the freedom we all have.

It’s because we have people who are willing to stand up and say “This is America and we will not bend.”

So Thank You for all you do and I will never forget the sacrifices that make me proud to say, I am an American.

See the entire Happy Memorial Day post.
