Another month has passed and it´s my, Monika Martinsons, turn to share a little Spellbinders™ inspiration.
I was thinking about my project for a while as the theme is to use you Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Machine in a way you don´t normally would use. My thoughts kept going back to card making and all the beautiful cards we keep seeing in this blog. I think I might not be the only one who thinks of making cards when thinking about Spellbinders. So today I thought I´d show you how easy it is to make a simple but gorgeous layout ONLY using your dies and papers, without any additional embellishments.
I know for sure that some of you will say that you can’t duplicate my layout cause you don’t have the same dies, but I can assure you that you can use the dies you have to get the same effect.
I started by choosing my papers, two pieces of double sided patterned ones and a white one. I cut one of the patterned to my size which is A4 and the other slightly smaller and attached the smaller on the larger diagonally.
I also cut all the dies I thought I would use. You can see a list below which ones I used. There was a few gorgeous butterflies on one of the patterned papers, I cut one of the and used the other to tuck my paper behind.
I also made sure that one of the butterflies would get in the corner of one of the die cut elements.
Next I placed the decorative edge die cut from the vintage lace accents under the edge of the top paper and used my sewing machine to attach it. Before I started to sew I tear a bit around the edges of the paper.
I had a bit of an accident with the label from the Vintage Lace Accents so I decided to cut of both of the outer thingies which actually made the label look like it has butterfly wings on it, at least I think so.
I cut the circle shape from the Vintage Lace Accents in half and placed one half under the top paper.
Now it is time to assemble the layout. I first arranged the pieces as I wanted them and then tried to glue them on in the same way. I can tell you that never works.
To add the layout a bit of dimension I used 3D foam to attach some of the pieces. On the photograph I used two pieces on top of each other as the die cut beneath the photo was attached with 3D foam.
Here is a close up showing the dimensions in the layout.
