Creating layers with Spellbinders Nestabilities   Tuesday, January 29, 2013

I don’t know about you, but I love to add lots of layers to the projects I create. Today, I’ve done this using a divine set of Nestabilities, then I’ve added more fun and texture with some more gorgeous dies. Let’s take a look….

So let’s go through what I did, step by step…..

spellbinders-step-1

Step 1: I started off by cutting a large die from the Grand decorative labels One set. I had this image of the layout being all white, but you’ll see that I change this as I go along. Grin. You’ll also notice that I cut one of the sides off the die cut. I was hoping to use it later on, but it didn’t quite work out.

Step 2: I added another layer using a gorgeous doily.

Step 3: I added another layer using the Grand Decorative Labels One, and a new die "Just Swingin’”. Isn’t that tree divine? The die also has a swing, but for my layout that didn’t work so I left it off.

Step 4: Then I decided that I really needed another layer….

By adding in this layer I was also able to add in another colour.

Step 5: Now I could add the tree back in and some embellishments

And of course my photo. And this time around, I die cut my photo using Labels Five as this allowed it to fit into the tree better and gave the whole layout a more ‘finished’ look.

Step 6: Now I’m able to finish off the layout by adding in a title. By cutting a banner I was able to balance the look of the layout (and of course use another gorgeous die).

The last step was to add the actual title and some journaling. And you can see that below…

This layout was so fun to put together, and using Spellbinders dies made it easy to design.

I hope you get the chance to use your dies today!

If you want to create a layout similar to mine, here is what you’ll need to use.

Have fun!

I am so glad you didn't make your layout all white! The color you used is subtle, but very effective with your layering. It turned out stunning!
