Thank you to everyone that is a fan of Spellbinders™ on Facebook!  We drew a winner from all of our fans and the winner is Beverly!  I sent Beverly a private message, and we look forward to her post on the  Spellbinders™ Facebook page to claim her prize!!  Congratulations!

And now onto today’s tutorial…

Clever idea on the trees, Eli.  I’m brancing off of Eli’s trees with the cone, the basic shape that has so many possibilities.  The paper cone, aka Tussie Mussie, has been around for ages, its simple to create, fun to embellish, and a delight to receive!

So thinking of our friends celebrating Hanakkah, and their 8 days of gifts, I created this Hanakkah Cone. I started with these supplies:

Spellbinder™s S4-170 Pinking Circles, LG #1; S4-1174 Standard Circles, LG #1, S4-235 Fancy Tags;  S7-014 Classic Lace Border Grand; images from Crafty Secrets; SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES by 3L, 3D Foam Squares; glass beads; craft wire; blue and white cardstock.

There’s more than one way to make a cone. For this, I cut a piece of 12×12″ cardstock on the diagonal.  I curled it up until the points met, which gave me a nice sturdy cone.

If you want something to hang from the bottom of the cone, now is the time to add it.  Mark the center spot, unroll the cone, attach the item (which could be ribbon, charms, etc.), and then assemble the cone.  I used a line of adhesive as well as staples to secure the cone’s shape.  Brads would be another decorative option.

The S7-014 Classic Lace Border Grand was cut/embossed and adhered to a strip of dark blue cardstock then attached to the top edge of the cone.  The Star of David image was cut/embossed with S4-114 Standard Circles #1.  It was attached to a S4-170 Pinking Circles #1 die cut and S4-114 Standard Circles LG #2.

I used 3D Foam Squares to attach the circles to the S4-235 Fancy Tag, but doubled up the bottom so the image would stand out on the cone.

I punched holes in the sides and added a ribbon to the top to hang the cone from. Now it needs to be filled with a gift and it’s ready to go!
