Savvy Saturday ~ A Three-Dimensional Effect
Did you all enjoy the Spellbinders™ Surprise Party!! Congratulations to the lucky winners! Can’t wait to hear who the Grand Prize Winner is because the Grand Prize is…Ooops! Almost let that one slip! Heehee!!
Our Design Team had done such a wonderful job - I just want to say THANK YOU to them for all the inspiration! I especially enjoyed a technique that our Blog Team Member, Sherry Cheever, had done with her card. She made layers out of an image using her S4-246 Labels Eleven.
Isn’t it beautiful?! I will have Sherry explain her technique in her video below. But make sure you use 6 to 8 copies of the same image (depending on how many layers you plan to do) and plenty of foam adhesive to give it lift.
So without further delay, hhhhheeeerrrreeee’s Sherry!
I tried my hand at this fun technique by using another reveal, S4-247 Labels Twelve #1, #2, #3 & #4 (#1 die being the smallest) and an image from Crafty Secrets.
After cutting/embossing all four pieces of the image, I adhered each layer with Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L 3D White Foam Squares. I carefully matched each layer to make it look like one whole image.
I am only using just four sizes because I wanted to frame the layered image with the S4-270 Fair Isle Pendants in Core’dinations Blue cardstock. I cut/embossed the center piece of S4-270 Fair Isle Pendants using My Mind’s Eye Penny Lane Collection and stenciled with Clearsnap Queue Ink. Then I cut the piece in half to frame both sides of the S4-270 Fair Isle Pendant.
Using My Mind’s Eye Penny Lane Collection as the card base, I added Hero Arts Pearls, ribbon and trinket pins from my stash to make this card. I liked how it turned out so much, I’ll have to make another one!
Hope you enjoyed Sherry’s technique! To see more of this talented lady, please visit her blog, Walkin’ On The BAD Side.
Try to do this with your Labels Die Templates and see how beautifully it enhances the image!
Happy Saturday!

Isn’t this a fun project….I did a photo of my grandson with the abstract die for a Christmas card in 2007 and really enjoyed putting it together. I did it a bit differently, but your way looks easier. Thank you so much for sharing….I’ll give something else a try with your method!!!

Sherry, when you download from TwistedPapers, what size do you print your Victorian postcards and/or photos? I did my first ones in 5×7 (3/page) and the second one I printed 3×5 (4/page) and on the smaller version, it cut off part of the verse at the bottom of the Valentine photo. This is my first stab at this project and also first at downloading the postcards/photos. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sherry says: There are two ways to do this. Resize the image in your photo software and print it. If doing more than one you can print them 4 to a page. If there is writing on the image, I print them out first and size them to my die that I’m using. I keep resizing until I have the size I need not to remove any of the printing.
She’ll be posting more information on her blog this week, be sure to subscribe to Sherry’s blog!
