CHA Blog Frenzy - Day One!!

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Greetings!

Today is the start of our CHA Blog Frenzy and it’s a biggie! Not only did we have a Frenzy about our Pendant Collection but now we’ve got 17 more new items to be frenzied about! For details on rules and schedule, please look HERE.

Design Team Member, Debbie Olson, will kick off with her take on our first reveal….S5-019 Labels Eight Nestabilities®!

Debbie has a B.A. in Commercial Art/Graphic Design plus an M.S. in Secondary Education. Much of what Debbie learned in art classes still applies to her today (basic designs, color theory, drawing and coloring skills). A busy mom, she home-schools during the day and creates mostly after 10pm. Debbie describes her style as eclectic - she appreciates so many different styles from clean and fresh to detailed and vintage. We hear she is rarely without a sanding block at her finger tips!

Here a sampling of Debbie’s beautiful work of art!

How many years of crafting?
As long as I can remember, I have always been interest in art.  My dad was a very talented artist, and I would spend hours watching him draw.  I always had paper and pencil in hand and tried to draw the things he did.

Your favorite Spellbinders™ technique?
My favorite technique would have to be coloring with either PrismaColor Pencils or Copic Markers. Both are great for achieving a realistic look and perfect for shading.

Your favorite Spellbinders™ die?
As for my favorite die, that’s difficult because I really enjoy them all, but my favorite would be the Nestabilities®. They are perfect for card making and stamping.

One thing you get inspiration for and why?
Magazines: I collect all of them. Since I live in a small town, they help me stay up to date with what’s going on in the industry.

Here are some of Linda’s beautiful work!

How many years of crafting?
I have been doing some type of crafting ever since I was little and I have been stamping for 20 + years.

How long have you been blogging?
A little over two years

Your favorite Spellbinders™ technique?
Reverse Stenciling

Your favorite Spellbinders™ die?
S7-014 Classic Lace Borderabilities® Grand

Favorite food/beverage for crafting?
If it’s in the morning, coffee with my favorite chocolate raspberry creamer.
During the rest of the day, either water or coke and sometimes a few pretzels in the evening.

One thing you get inspiration from and why?
I seem to find the most inspiration when I am listening to music and surprisingly it’s music that I might not otherwise listen too—LOL! I’m not really sure why, all I know is that it gets the creativity flowing.

Sharing some of Heidi’s wonderful creations!

How many years of crafting?
I’ve been crafting in one or another since I was about 8 years old. I remember weaving pot holders and selling them to the neighbors for pennies (I guess you can say that was my first paying job too). That would mean, that I’ve been crafting for 42 years now.

How long have you been blogging?
I started my own website in November of 2005 with daily posts. When Splitcoaststampers offered blogs to the Daily Dozen Alumni, I jumped on the bandwagon and my first blog post there was February 24, 2007.

Your favorite Spellbinders™ die?
I think my favorite Spellbinders dies are the S4-202 Large Deckled Rectangles and the S4-201 Small Deckled Rectangles Nestabilities® and the S4-085 Snowflake Wonder.

Favorite food/beverage for crafting?
I always have coffee or Diet Coke (and sometimes chocolate) close at hand.

One thing you get inspiration from and why?
Most times I draw inspiration from art work of wallpaper that I see in different places that I go. I also like to browse the Kohl’s Sunday ads for pictures of any art they might have on sale.

Here are some of Sherry’s recent works of art!

How many years of crafting?
I have always been a crafty person. Even in my childhood I was always making something or remaking something

How long have you been blogging?
I began my blog July 4th 2006…so wow, almost three years!!!

Your favorite Spellbinders™ technique?
I love to leave my die on my cut cardstock or paper and use it as a mask/stencil with my Copic Air Brushing System.

Your favorite Spellbinders™ die?
Seriously??? There is NO WAY I could choose!!!

Favorite food/beverage for crafting?
I don’t really eat or drink while I am crafting…except when it is deadline crunch time…then Dr Pepper is usually near at hand

One thing you get inspiration from and why?
One way I get inspired is by paying attention to details from everyday life, there is something to be learned from each day…

Keri Lee has some wonderful projects to share!

So go on over to Keri Lee’s Blog and enter for those die templates!
