CHA Blog Frenzy - Day Three!!

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Many thanks to Michelle Wooderson for her projects using our newest reveal, S4-220 Nested Pine Trees set. Don’t forget to send in your email (link is in Michelle’s blog) by July 11th (11:59PM EST)!!

For Day Three, we have Karen Hunsaker up to bat with our next reveal, S4-229 Labels Five set. Wait until you see this set…a definite addition to your wish list!

We hope you will get to know this fun Design Team Member as we asked Karen some “difficult” questions…

Do you have a scrap room or a scrap area?
I do have a scrap room, and it is well named at the moment! Due to all the bits and pieces that are cut out of the new detailed pendants, the floor is covered with confetti! It is well worth the mess though. They are all gorgeous!!!!

Are you a messy crafter or an organized crafter?
Well, looking at my room today, you would have to say MESSY! But I’ve been very busy working on projects, so I haven’t had time to clean up much. BUT I did find a clear stamp set that had been missing for weeks! LOL! It was in with some papers. I really do like my area more organized though. It drives me crazy to have to hunt for my tools over and over. Uh oh, I guess I’d better clean up!

Favorite Spellbinders™’ storage tip?
I have lined the inside doors of my cabinets with magnetic sheets and lots of my Nestabilities® are stored there. I love being able to look at them and so easily choose which ones are best for my project.

Are you an altered arts, scrapbook or card kinda gal?
I have to say that cards are my favorite, but I really learning to love layouts and altered arts more and more. Spellbinders™ dies make all of it so much easier and way more beautiful!

Who’s your favorite promotional partner?
I find myself reaching for Core’dinations papers again and again! I love that the papers have two different sides, and sanding them shows the details of our beautiful dies so well and makes for such great backgrounds.

Favorite music or tv programs while creating?
I just saw Wicked yesterday…maybe the soundtrack will be my favorite kind of music for awhile. Hmmmm, I wonder if my creations will all be GREEN! Bwahahahahahaha!!

Samples of Karen’s wonderful creations!

CHA Blog Frenzy - Day Two!!

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

We hope you enjoyed Debbie Olson’s project that she created with the S5-019 Labels Eight Nestabilties®. If you didn’t get enough of this set, Julie Overby made a cute project on her blog that she is sharing.

Remember in order to enter the Frenzy contest, you will need to send an email (link is in Debbie’s blog) by Friday, July 10th (11:59PM EST).

For Day Two of the CHA Blog Frenzy, we have Michelle Wooderson who will be showing us her creations with the S4-220 Nested Pine Trees. Be sure to visit Michelle’s blog HERE to see what she has in store!

As a life-long crafter, Michelle started out by helping her mom with Bible School crafts. After her daughters were born, she started scrapbooking and now is really into the craft! Michelle gets her inspiration from various sources such as all kinds of magazines, browsing through stores, visiting thrift stores and antique stores to surfing through many web sites and bookmarked blogs. When starting a new project, a simple object like a snippet of ribbon or something purchased from a garage sale can set off an inspiration. What she loves most about crafting is creating something special for someone or to fill her home with homemade items…it’s a good feeling!

We would like to share some of Michelle’s sweet projects!

Michelle Wooderson Blogger Spotlight

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Today we welcome Michelle Wooderson, a Spellbinder’s Blogger, stamper, scrapbooker, wife, mother and teacher, AND our hostess of Day 2 of Spellbinder’s 5th Anniversary Party. Be sure to visit Michelle’s Blog Mish Mash to see today’s reveal of the latest die template from Spellbinders Paper Arts, AND to enter to win yesterday’s and today’s die templates, AND qualify for the grand prize, see details and rules here.

Michelle, where do you get your inspiration?

I get inspiration from looking through magazines of all kinds, browsing through store aisles like Target, looking through catalogs, visiting junk stores and antique stores, and browsing my favorite web sites and blogs. I love vintage and antique items and often look for new ways to use old, found objects.

Where do you get ideas for a new project?

When I’m starting a new project, I am often inspired by a simple piece of new cardstock, a snippet of ribbon, a stamp set or some item I’ve found at the junk store or a garage sale. That one little tidbit of inspiration inspires me to create my Inspiration Stations. I gather up other crafty items that will coordinate and work with my item. By gathering all the goodies together in one spot, I can easily pick and choose what I want to work with.

Besides paper, what other materials have you used?

I have recently taken up quilting and other sewing projects. I can’t wait to incorporate fabrics, wools and other materials into my upcoming projects. I think the combination of paper crafting and sewing works hand in hand.

What do you enjoy most about crafting?

The thing I love most about crafting is that usually I am creating something for someone. I use my crafting in my every day life so that I can make gifts for teachers, friends and family. I also love to decorate my home with my hand made items. I really love the one of a kind feel that you get when creating something hand made.
