Hello, crafty friends! Marie here from
Marie Nicole Designs. I have two cards to share with you in this post that I hope will brighten up your day! These cards feature the lights from
Pear Blossom Press that will help in creating light-up cards or other papercraft projects!

These can be used for a variety of occasions. I am featuring a thinking of you card and a Christmas card, but think of how cute it would be to also light up a birthday scene with candles! Or maybe add an eerie glow to a Halloween card? So many fun ways to create! Let’s take a look!

My first card features a pretty simple way of creating a light-up card. I used the set
Classic Tales, and I crafted two trees and a little house with it. I also added some arched layers behind the little cottage scene for some dimension and to frame our focal point.
My background is ink blended to look like a starry night sky. I added the stars by splattering on some shimmery sparkle splatter!

The most fun thing about this card is the light! These lights come 2 in a pack, and they have a button, and light, and a place for the battery all on one plate that you can place behind whatever you want to light up. The package also includes batteries.
So to light up my house, I added a bit of vellum paper behind the windows to soften the light, and then added foam adhesive to the back of the house. This will allow room behind for the light. I then added the light behind where I knew I wanted to place my house with some adhesive, and then placed the house right over it to hide all the components. I tried to line the button up with the door so it light up when you “ring the doorbell”.
It's so bright!
For my second card, I again used the same
Classic Tales set, but I changed up the scenery and colors to create a winter Christmas scene.

I cut the house three times, the third time using only the front panel for the house. This allowed me to add some variation in the sizes of the houses in my scene. I also kept all the houses white and added just a red door to each.
My background is again ink-blended and splattered to make it look like a dark, starry night. You can do any color scheme with these lights, but I like to think that having a darker background helps the light to look brighter!

I added the light on this card behind the middle house. I again added vellum behind the windows, and I also added a few curved paper layers to the foreground for a snowy hillside look.
One thing to keep in mind when planning out your layout for a light-up card is where you can put the light and where you have to press to push the button. The light itself takes up some dimension, so plan on adding some foam adhesive behind whatever you are lighting up.
You can also mark where to press, so whoever you give this card to will know what to do!
There you have it, friends! Two light-up cards in different styles using many of the same supplies!
But don’t feel limited in what you can create with light-up cards! You could add these lights behind Christmas lights, candles, houses with windows… anything, really!
I hope this gives you some ideas to take to your own crafting. Have a great day, everyone!
