Hey Crafty Friends, it’s
Amy Tsuruta, and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog featuring the gorgeous
Holiday Magic - Rub Ons. This collection of images come in various sizes with plenty of sentiments to create many cards, tags, and gift giving papercrafting projects.
Take a peek at how to create this sweet card with a simple tutorial, starting with a look at the
Universal Plate System. I’ve had the
Platinum 6 for years and honestly didn’t think I ‘needed’ the
Universal Plate System. I’m here to say that it is a game changer.
- Stack your plates [bottom to top] as noted on the plates
- A- Platform Base
- B-Platform Top
- C-Cutting Plate
- Cardstock
- Cutting die [cut side down]
- C-Cutting Plate
- I trimmed down my cardstock panels to fit the dies that I’m working with. Please note that the photo below is just to show you the cardstock colors and dies I used. I generally cut only one large die at a time.
- You simply cut out the image and sentiment. Make sure you cut through the 2 layers and when you’re ready to apply the image, remove the backer.
- I used the die as a guide to know how to space the image and the sentiment. I’m using 100 lb cardstock. This second photo shows the critter has already been applied to the cardstock.
- I love working with white cardbases, but for this project I decided to have a Pomegranate A2 panel and then a white panel trimmed to 4.0 x 5.25. Need suggestions for a paper trimmer? Spellbinders carries Guillotine Paper Trimmers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I adore this sweet collection, and I can’t wait to see how you’re inspired. You can find me over on Instagram
