Jen Kotas here today with a step-by-step photo tutorial creating a card with the
Copperplate Happy Anniversary BetterPress Plate. I will walk you through using the
BetterPress System to create a multi colored sentiment and die cutting elements to add to the card.
My apologies, the photo shows the
Tiger BetterPress Ink, but I actually used the Apricot BetterPress Ink.
Place the
Copperplate Happy Anniversary BetterPress Plate on magnetic platform (the Chase). Tape a
Porcelain A2 BetterPress Cotton Card Panel to the clear plate (the Platen).
Add ink to press plate with
Strawberry BetterPress Ink on bottom and Apricot BetterPress Ink on top. Where the colors meet, gently tap back and forth to avoid harsh lines.
Place clear top plate and run through
Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine.
If you’re not ready to blend colors, do each word in a separate color instead. The ink pads are small making it easier to avoid getting ink where you don’t want it.
Die-cut flower pieces from
Gorgeous You Floral Etched Dies from
Blush,
Dahlia,
Wild Berry,
Chiffon,
Bellini, and
Fern ColorWheel Cardstock.
Tape dies in place and run through die cutting machine. All dies fit through the
Platinum Scout Die Cutting Machine.

Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals Etched Dies.
Keep all your die cuts in a
Craft Stax Medium Tray so you don’t lose anything!
Die cut scallop oval and largest oval from
Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals Etched Dies out of
Wild Berry and
Blush ColorWheel Cardstock.
A jewel picker and tweezers are an absolute necessity for me when I’m assembling die cuts. I also prefer the ultra-fine tip on the
Bearly Art Glue.
Assemble the die-cut flowers.
Instead of or in addition to, add Color Essentials Gems. Berry would look great with this card!
Adhere the die-cut BetterPress panel to the oval die cut.
Adhere oval die cut to scallop oval die cut.
Add entire piece to an A2 card base.
Adhere flowers with thin foam squares. Be sure you place them where they won’t interfere with other dimensional pieces.
I typically only add glue to stems for a tiny bit of dimension.
The small flowers only get glue in the center. Sometimes I like to use tweezers to curl them up a bit.
