Demand Planner

Spellbinders Paper Arts is seeking a data-driven Demand Planner in their Phoenix office. At its core, the demand planner analyzes data to create product demand forecasts, collaborating with sales, marketing, supply chain and the warehouse to ensure product availability and optimal inventory levels. This is an in-office, full-time position.

Job summary

This job focuses heavily on working with and through others, building and maintaining relationships, and working closely and accurately within established guidelines. It requires an effective communicator: someone who is able to motivate others while understanding and responding to their needs and concerns.

This role involves meeting and working with many different people. The person in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in the needs of others, whether that's managers, team members, customers, or the company itself. This person must have a persuasive, teaching-oriented mindset and be able to easily communicate the company's policies, programs, and systems. Expect a faster-than-average pace of work for this position.

Detailed work is another major focus of the job; these details need to be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently. As this role often focuses on building and maintaining relationships with others, it's important to articulate the details effectively when working with others. If the job involves managing people, this person must be able to follow up carefully, closely, and cheerfully to maintain the quality of the work and relevant relationships. Any necessary corrections should be made in a constructive, supportive manner.

Job characteristics

As the demand planner, you will:

  • Manage inventory - Monitor and optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing costs and preventing obsolescence. This will involve monitoring seasonal demands and managing factory lead times and closures.
  • Develop product forecasts – Analyze sales data to create and maintain accurate demand forecasts for products.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally - Work with sales, marketing, operations, finance, and supply chain teams to gather insights and ensure forecast alignment. You will also work with the warehouse to conduct cycle counts to ensure inventory levels are accurate. You are: · Analytical - Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting techniques. · Proficient in key software - Experience with inventory management tools, Excel. · A collaborative communicator - Strong verbal and written communication to effectively collaborate with various teams and present findings to management. · Have a business perspective – Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes and business goals.
  • Creative at heart – though you don’t necessarily “craft” you have an appreciation for creative pursuits and understand how it brings joy to our customers.
  • Demand experience – have worked as a demand planning/in an inventory management role for 2-3 years.
