Brighten Your Crafting with Light Up Cards!

Brighten Your Crafting with Light Up Cards!

Hello, crafty friends! Marie here from Marie Nicole Designs. I have two cards to share with you in this post that I hope will brighten up your day! These cards feature the lights from Pear Blossom Press that will help in creating light-up cards or other papercraft projects! Brighten Your Crafting with Light Up Cards! S5-649, 15077, DOML-MAR24 These can be used for a variety of occasions. I am featuring a thinking of you card and a Christmas card, but think of how cute it would be to also light up a birthday scene with candles! Or maybe add an eerie glow to a Halloween card? So many fun ways to create! Let’s take a look! Brighten Your Crafting with Light Up Cards! S5-649, 15077, DOML-MAR24 My first card features a pretty simple way of creating a light-up card. I used the set Classic Tales, and I crafted two trees and a little house with it. I also added some arched layers behind the little cottage scene for some dimension and to frame our focal point. My background is ink blended to look like a starry night sky. I added the stars by splattering on some shimmery sparkle splatter! Brighten Your Crafting with Light Up Cards! S5-649, 15077, DOML-MAR24 The most fun thing about this card is the light! These lights come 2 in a pack, and they have a button, and light, and a place for the battery all on one plate that you can place behind whatever you want to light up. The package also includes batteries. So to light up my house, I added a bit of vellum paper behind the windows to soften the light, and then added foam adhesive to the back of the house. This will allow room behind for the light. I then added the light behind where I knew I wanted to place my house with some adhesive, and then placed the house right over it to hide all the components. I tried to line the button up with the door so it light up when you “ring the doorbell”. It's so bright! For my second card, I again used the same Classic Tales set, but I changed up the scenery and colors to create a winter Christmas scene. Brighten Your Crafting with Light Up Cards! S5-649, 15077, DOML-MAR24 I cut the house three times, the third time using only the front panel for the house. This allowed me to add some variation in the sizes of the houses in my scene. I also kept all the houses white and added just a red door to each. My background is again ink-blended and splattered to make it look like a dark, starry night. You can do any color scheme with these lights, but I like to think that having a darker background helps the light to look brighter! Brighten Your Crafting with Light Up Cards! S5-649, 15077, DOML-MAR24 I added the light on this card behind the middle house. I again added vellum behind the windows, and I also added a few curved paper layers to the foreground for a snowy hillside look. One thing to keep in mind when planning out your layout for a light-up card is where you can put the light and where you have to press to push the button. The light itself takes up some dimension, so plan on adding some foam adhesive behind whatever you are lighting up. You can also mark where to press, so whoever you give this card to will know what to do! There you have it, friends! Two light-up cards in different styles using many of the same supplies! But don’t feel limited in what you can create with light-up cards! You could add these lights behind Christmas lights, candles, houses with windows… anything, really! I hope this gives you some ideas to take to your own crafting. Have a great day, everyone! [spellbinders-supplies]SCSI-002,S5-649,15077,DOML-MAR24,PE-104,PCG02E,SCS-267[/spellbinders-supplies]

From Farfalle to Ravi-Best: Foodie-Inspired Cards with Buon Appetito

Hi folks, Kavya from @handmadebykavya here with some fun inspiration for the latest release - Buon Appetito. Pasta La Vista, S4-1494,S4-1495,STP-263,E3D-137,S5-131,S4-1162   I love food and I love pasta! It’s always fun to have some punny food-themed cards in your collection. I have three beautiful cards using a bunch of products from this collection, and I hope they inspire you today.

Barilla Pasta Themed Card

Pasta La Vista, S4-1494, S5-131, S4-1162, STP-263 My first card was inspired by the Barilla Pasta box. I created a Barilla pasta-themed shaker card, and I absolutely love how this turned out. I first die-cut a bunch of adorable bow tie pasta from Pasta Friends Etched Dies and linen colored cardstock. I then created my navy blue card base by die-cutting a rectangle window using a rectangle die from A-2 Mating Basics A. I added a bunch of bows to this window to create the shaker part of the card. For the main sentiment, I hand-cut an oval out of red cardstock. You could also use a die if you have one. Then, I used the Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers die to die-cut the letters ‘HBD’. Later, I decorated the sentiment using some more diecut elements from Pasta Friends Etched Dies and added another heat embossed sentiment from Stay Saucy Clear Stamp Set to finish off the card! Pasta La Vista, S4-1494, S5-131, S4-1162, STP-263

Thanks Farfalle you do!

Pasta La Vista, S4-1494, S4-1495, S4-1162, STP-263 My next card uses the adorable Pasta Friends Etched Dies and Ingredients Buddies Etched Dies. This one is rather simple to recreate! I started off my die-cutting a bunch of elements from the two sets. I then organized them on pale gray cardstock and added a sentiment using die-cut alphabets from Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers die set and stamped sentiments from Stay Saucy Clear Stamp Set to finish off the card! Pasta La Vista, S4-1494, S4-1495, S4-1162, STP-263

You are the Ravi-Best!

Pasta La Vista, S4-1494, S4-1495, STP-263, E3D-137 I am not kidding when I say you have endless possibilities with this collection. You can use almost any composition and layout to recreate a totally new card. This one also uses the adorable Pasta Friends Etched Dies and Ingredients Buddies Etched Dies. I first started off by embossing some mint colored cardstock using Al Dente 3D Embossing Folder. I ink-blended one edge of the cardstock using a shade darker than the cardstock to give some depth. Then I adhered a bunch of elements from the die sets and added a heat-embossed sentiment from Stay Saucy Clear Stamp Set to finish off the card! Pasta La Vista, S4-1494, S4-1495, STP-263, E3D-137 [spellbinders-supplies]S4-1494,S4-1495,STP-263,E3D-137,S5-131,S4-1162[/spellbinders-supplies] That’s it! I hope you like all these projects! Can’t wait to see what you all make J Happy Crafting, Kavya

Together Like Spaghetti and Meatballs

Together Like Spaghetti and Meatballs

Hello, crafty friends! It's Marie here again from Marie Nicole Designs. I’m so excited to be here on the Spellbinders blog today to share a few cards I created using the Buon Appetito collection. This collection has some of the cutest dies and some very clever and punny sentiments to go with. Whenever I’m working with stamps and dies that are cute, I love creating little scenes that are full of personality. Let’s take a look at what I created! Together Like Spaghetti and Meatballs, S4-1495, S4-1494, E3D-137, STP-263, S4-1280, S5-487 For my first card, I just knew I wanted to try to craft a big bowl of pasta with some of our little pasta friends swimming in it. I sorted all the little dies and found the ravioli shapes and decided that they would look cute on my card. I also wanted to stick with the same color theme for all three cards, so I chose my colors first and stuck to those while crafting. I used some greens, off-whites, yellows, reds, and a few other neutral colors for little accents. Together Like Spaghetti and Meatballs, S4-1495, S4-1494, E3D-137, STP-263, S4-1280, S5-487 For my ravioli card, I started by cutting out a few circles using some nested dies. I used an off-white for the bowl and a red for the sauce inside. I then used a little bit of ink to add some shading around the edges. I didn’t want a lot of ink blending, but just enough to give a little texture. Together Like Spaghetti and Meatballs, S4-1495, S4-1494, E3D-137, STP-263, S4-1280, S5-487 Then, I used a pencil to draw a faint line around the bowl where I wanted to stamp my sentiment. I used this line to help guide me in gently curving the clear sentiment stamp on the door of my stamping platform so I could turn the straight sentiment into a curved sentiment in the exact placement that I needed. After my sentiment was stamped, I added the bowl with foam adhesive, and then layered in my little ravioli pieces in a fun arrangement. I also embellished a little by adding the fork, the mushrooms, leaf garnishes, and a little bow tie on the ravioli in the front. Together Like Spaghetti and Meatballs, S4-1495, S4-1494, E3D-137, STP-263, S4-1280, S5-487 For my second card, I wanted to use the macaroni pieces with the cheese for a fun shaker card! I cut out multiple macaronis and the cheese character. For the shaker filling, I took the same color of yellow cardstock and trimmed it into very thin strips, and then cut it down to make it look like shredded cheese. Together Like Spaghetti and Meatballs, ● S4-1495, S4-1494, E3D-137, STP-263, S4-1280, S5-487 I used nested rectangles this time for this card. I cut out a piece for the card base, and then cut out a frame from some red checkered patterned paper. On the backside of my frame piece, I adhered a sheet of acetate to create the clear window. If you don't have acetate, you could always use some clear packaging as a window. Then, I added my shredded cheese and a few macaroni pieces in a pile on my base layer, and carefully lined up and adhered the framed window over it using foam adhesive for dimension. I love the fun and crazy look of shredded cheese for a shaker card! To finish this fun card, I added the Mac and Cheese friends on front and the fun sentiment! Together Like Spaghetti and Meatballs, ● S4-1495, S4-1494, E3D-137, STP-263, S4-1280, S5-487 My third card features another classic pair- spaghetti and meatballs. This card is a pretty basic design. I again used the nested A2 rectangles and cut out three layers. For the base layer, I used the embossing folder from the collection. I love the amazing dimension these folders give to embossed paper! How fun are all those embossed pasta shapes? It created the perfect textured look for the background. Together Like Spaghetti and Meatballs, ● S4-1495, S4-1494, E3D-137, STP-263, S4-1280, S5-487 Over the embossed background, I layered my other rectangles. Again, I used a checkered pattern layered behind another piece of off-white. On the top layer, I stamped the sentiment and added our meatball and spaghetti friend. This time, I didn't give them arms and legs, but just added them without. You can create these characters either way! Use them with limbs holding hands or without. So many ways to be creative! That is a look at the Buon Appetito collection. I hope you find it as charming as I do, and that you’ll have fun creating with it! Thanks again for stopping by the blog today, and I hope to catch you next time! [spellbinders-supplies]S4-1495,S4-1494,E3D-137,STP-263,S4-1280,S5-487,PE-104,PCG02E[/spellbinders-supplies]
