Hi there, this is
Annie Williams and today I’m excited to take you step-by-step through creating this bright and colorful birthday card made with the new
Take Note Collection from Spellbinders. With fun memo-inspired die sets, versatile background designs, and unique sentiments, this collection is perfect for creating memorable cards and projects for all kinds of occasions.

Start by applying
Verdigris Metallic Ink to the
Memo Splatter BetterPress Plate and press it onto a piece of
Seaside Cardstock using the
BetterPress Letterpress System. (Adhere your cardstock to the BetterPress Platen with
Best Ever Craft Tape, but be sure to only tape the corners where the inked design won’t be pressed!)

Die cut about ¼” inch off of one side of the panel using the
Torn Paper Edges Die Set. (
Best Ever Craft Tape works great for holding dies in place too!)

Trim a piece of
Teal Topaz Cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and adhere the pressed and die-cut panel on top using
tape runner. Add this layered panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with more tape runner.

Die cut
Fairy Tale,
Lavender,
Lilac,
Waterfall, and
Teal Topaz Cardstock using the
Reel Color Die Set.

It easy to adhere tiny die-cuts using a
jewel picker…just add liquid glue to the embossed space on the wheel die-cut and pick and place the tiny frames on top.

Adhere the assembled reel onto the front of the card with foam adhesive, allowing it to hang over the left side just a bit. To trim off the overhanging bits, turn the card over and use
long scissors butted up against the edge of the card.

Die cut white,
Anchor, and
Mirror Silver Cardstock using the small flower and leaf dies from the
Be Bold Blooms Die Set. Add the centers to the flowers with liquid glue.

Apply
Thunder BetterPress Ink to the
Reel Color Sentiments BetterPress Plate and press onto white cardstock.

Cut out all of the sentiments at once using the coordinating die in the
Reel Color Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set.

Add the flowers, leaves, and sentiment to the front of the card with
small foam squares.
Detail Tweezers always help me when I’m trying to arrange and place small die-cuts onto a card!

Add
Opal Mix Gems to embellish. (A craft pick works great for picking up and placing adhesive gems.)

With some pretty colors and fun die-cuts, you can make a bold and unique birthday card in no time!
