Hello there,
Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog using the Jump for Joy collection. This small but wonderful collection features a frog/toad that you can use in different scenes and for different occasions.
HOPPING BY
My first card uses
Frog Prince Etched Dies, as well as
Jump for Joy Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. I love that the Frog Prince set has flowers and a mushroom in it along with the frog so that you can create a scene with the frog, or you can use them separately too.

To make this card:
- Die cut frog from Rainforest, Fern, Classic White, and Raven ColorWheel Cardstock.
- Adhere together using Bearly Art Glue, attaching the head to the body with a little thin foam tape.
- Die cut mushroom from Classic White, Wild Berry, Alabaster, and Fawn ColorWheel Cardstock. Assemble and adhere using Bearly Art Glue.
- Die cut flowers using Lilac, Lavender, Beeswax, and Saffron ColorWheel Cardstock and adhere pieces together using Bearly Art Glue.
- Die cut stems and leaves from Peridot ColorWheel Cardstock.
- Adhere frog to mushroom first, holding in place at the back with a little tape. Adhere to card using thin foam tape.
- Adhere flowers to stems and then onto the card using thin foam tape behind the flower heads, and Bearly Art Glue behind the stems.
- Before the glue dries, pop leaves behind the stems.
- Cut excess off the bottom using Shears.
- To finish, embellish with Clear Enamel Dots.
TOP TIP: When cutting into a card base, I like to add a sheet of scrap paper between the back of the card base and the cutting plate. This way I do not get any indentations from the cutting mat onto the card. If the die does not cut all the way through, cut along the line with scissors to finish the cut.
MAKE A WISH
I thought I would create a tag using the same sets but this time, make the frog into a prince!

To make this tag:
- Cut panel of white cardstock to 2.5” x 3.75” and punch one end using 3-in-1 Tag Punch to create tag.
- Cut strip of Fern ColorWheel Cardstock and adhere to bottom of tag. Cut excess off with Shears.
- Before the glue dries, pop bottom of leaves behind the Fern piece.
- Adhere frog on top using thin foam tape.
TOADLY AMAZING
For my last project, I’m using
Frog Prince Etched Dies again, but this time, combined with the
Lily Pad Stencil.

To make this card:
- Add ink blending to the top of the lily pad with green inks.
- Add ink blending to the top of the flower with purple inks.
- Remove stencil and place second stencil down.
- Add ink blending to stems and bottom of the lily pad with green inks.
TOP TIP: I like using the hinge method to create shaped card bases, but you could also die cut into a card base, like I did with the first card too. Just remember to have the edge of the die overlapping the fold to keep it intact!
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my projects today. Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day!
