Darling Chalkboard Holiday Ornaments - Christmas in July

Darling Chalkboard Holiday Ornaments - Christmas in July

Hello fellow makers!  Miranda here from Tinsel + Wheat guest blogging with Spellbinders as we celebrate Christmas in July! I'm so excited to show you how easy these little chalkboard stocking ornaments are to re-create.

Here's what you'll need:

Let’s get started!

Step 1: Cut your stockings out.

Cut out as many stockings as desired with your Platinum 6 machine, naughty or nice steel rule die, and balsa wood. Your sandwich die starting from the bottom up will be clear acrylic plate + your naughty or nice steel rule die + balsa wood + acrylic plate. Step 2:  Paint your stockings.

Paint your stockings using black chalkboard paint. Make sure to paint both sides, this will help prevent warping. Darling Chalkboard Holiday Ornaments - Christmas in July

Step 3: Add trim.

Start with your twine ornament loop, then add the rest of your trim.  For these stockings, I used burlap trim, lace, ball trim and twine.     Darling Chalkboard Holiday Ornaments - Christmas in July Darling Chalkboard Holiday Ornaments - Christmas in July Darling Chalkboard Holiday Ornaments - Christmas in July Darling Chalkboard Holiday Ornaments - Christmas in July

Step 4: Personalize

Personalize your stockings with a little message using a chalk pen. These stocking ornaments will make the cutest gifts or can be used as beautiful gift tags!  They take just minutes to make. Thanks so much for reading!  We would love to see the ornaments you come up with for Christmas in July or for the holiday season, so make sure to tag us on Instagram! Merry Christmas!

Quilt It Pineapple Print

Quilt It Pineapple Print

Hi everyone! It's Alli again from Partyography and today I'm excited to share this pineapple print I made using the new Quilt It Collection from Lene Lok. Since we're right in the middle of summer and I'm loving the pineapple trend, I thought this print would be perfect on a dessert table for all your summer gatherings or even as summer home decor. I love how you can have a quilted look without the sewing!
Quilt It Pineapple Print
Instructions: Quilt It Pineapple Print Step 1 Start by picking out what colors you'd like to use in your pineapple. I used four variations of yellow and four variations of green but you can use any color or pattern you like! Quilt It Pineapple Print Step 2 Next cut S3-287 Die D-Lites Half Square Triangle Quilt Etched Dies with all the shades of cardstock. You'll want to focus on cutting with the four triangles in the middle of the die. You will need 52 pieces of yellow for the base of the pineapple and 18 pieces for the top of the pineapple. It sounds like a lot but goes pretty quickly, especially if you double up on cardstock when you're cutting. Quilt It Pineapple Print Step 3 Once all the triangles are cut, you can use this pineapple print as a guide and glue all the pieces into place. I actually glued the base of the pineapple onto one piece of white cardstock and the top of the pineapple onto another piece of cardstock. Once all the pieces were glued, I cut around the edges and glued the two pieces onto an 11x14 piece of poster board. This helped to make sure the pineapple was centered on the print.
