Create Winter Wonderland Cards with Ski-son’s Greetings Collection!
Oct 26, 2025
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Spellbinders Blog. I’m Pam Sparks, cardmaker, blogger, and all-around Winter lover from Iowa. You can find me on my blog ExpressionsWithHeart.com.
Today’s cards celebrate a touch of Winter sporting and relaxing. Super cute characters, super cool embossing folder, love the BetterPress Plate sentiments, and the delightful Ski Lodge. I’m going to start by showing you how I was inspired to use the colors I did for two of the cards.
The DIY Color Deck Holiday Expansion Pack is full of wonderful inspiration! I just fell in love with the houses, colors, and the black car! I pulled out some Distress Oxide inks and set to work. Weathered Wood, Fossilized Amber, Crushed Olive, Tattered Rose, and Hickory Smoke.
Streamline 3D embossing folder creates a wonderful background for these Winter scenes. I embellished with some glitter here and there by painting on Glossy Accents and sprinkling clear glitter, then tapping off the excess.
I had the thought to add the string of lights from the Ski Lodge die set. I don’t know if they have these kinds of lights at ski resorts, but I liked how they added a fun detail.
Die-cut the characters from white cardstock and ink-blend them with the Distress Oxide inks. Die-cut the trees from green cardstock. Mat the embossed panel with black cardstock and glue it to an A7-sized cardbase. Remember to spatter with white ink for snowfall!
An A2-sized card made pretty much the same way as the skier card. Ink the edges with Weathered Wood Distress ink, no glitter but lots of white ink spatters for snowfall!
All three cards feature sentiments from the BetterPress Plate and Die set Ski-son’s Greetings. What an awesome set. I am loving the Better Press system!
A warm and cozy ski lodge in a snowstorm. What fun! On a card, anyway. Haha
Die cutting makes cardmaking fun and easy. Cut your pieces from colored cardstock and start gluing. Die-cut the light bulbs in white and color with markers.
Ink your die cuts for a rustic feel. Glue everything together and spatter with white ink.
A great masculine card that would work for any season. Just change up the lights! I just realized it’s missing some smoke coming out of the chimney! Haha, Next time!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Spellbinders blog today. I hope you enjoyed these snowy cards!
