From Farfalle to Ravi-Best: Foodie-Inspired Cards with Buon Appetito
Oct 14, 2025
Hi folks, Kavya from @handmadebykavya here with some fun inspiration for the latest release - Buon Appetito.
I love food and I love pasta! It’s always fun to have some punny food-themed cards in your collection. I have three beautiful cards using a bunch of products from this collection, and I hope they inspire you today.
My first card was inspired by the Barilla Pasta box. I created a Barilla pasta-themed shaker card, and I absolutely love how this turned out. I first die-cut a bunch of adorable bow tie pasta from Pasta Friends Etched Dies and linen colored cardstock. I then created my navy blue card base by die-cutting a rectangle window using a rectangle die from A-2 Mating Basics A. I added a bunch of bows to this window to create the shaker part of the card. For the main sentiment, I hand-cut an oval out of red cardstock. You could also use a die if you have one. Then, I used the Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers die to die-cut the letters ‘HBD’. Later, I decorated the sentiment using some more diecut elements from Pasta Friends Etched Dies and added another heat embossed sentiment from Stay Saucy Clear Stamp Set to finish off the card!
My next card uses the adorable Pasta Friends Etched Dies and Ingredients Buddies Etched Dies. This one is rather simple to recreate! I started off my die-cutting a bunch of elements from the two sets. I then organized them on pale gray cardstock and added a sentiment using die-cut alphabets from Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers die set and stamped sentiments from Stay Saucy Clear Stamp Set to finish off the card!
I am not kidding when I say you have endless possibilities with this collection. You can use almost any composition and layout to recreate a totally new card. This one also uses the adorable Pasta Friends Etched Dies and Ingredients Buddies Etched Dies. I first started off by embossing some mint colored cardstock using Al Dente 3D Embossing Folder. I ink-blended one edge of the cardstock using a shade darker than the cardstock to give some depth. Then I adhered a bunch of elements from the die sets and added a heat-embossed sentiment from Stay Saucy Clear Stamp Set to finish off the card!
