Christmas Decoration in the Home Cards
Nov 04, 2024
Hello Crafty Friends, Heejung Hunsberger here! I'm thrilled to be returning as a guest designer for Spellbinders this month again! If you'd like to get to know me better, visit my blog or follow me on Instagram. Additionally, I have a YouTube channel where I regularly post video tutorials.
Today, I’m sharing three cards featuring the Timeless Trees by Simon Hurley. I had so much fun playing with the collection. The theme of my cards is Christmas decorations in the home.
First, I die-cut the window on the card front, and the frame using the Vista View Window die on the Lunar Gray cardstock.
Next, I created an inner card using the Oh, Joyful Day Pattern Paper as the background, and then die-cut the trees using the Classic Christmas Tree die.
I love the texture of shining ornaments, so I used metallic card stock to die-cut the ornaments and wrap the gifts.
I decorated the window with a wreath from the Mantle Decorations Die and a bow from the Vintage Layered Ornaments Die from the collection.
I hot-foiled the Mistletoe Greeting Press Plate sentiments on red card stock with white foil.
First, I embossed the Bark 3D embossing Folder in white card stock to create the background.
I created a wood shelf from the Mantle Village die set in the collection. I ink-blended it with tea dye ink using blending brushes.
I die-cut the socks on red and white card stock and the wreath on forest card stock. I also die-cut the deer on Copper Metallic Card stock.
I decorated the wreath with one of the bows from the Classic Christmas Tree Die set. The little bow die for the gift box is unique to this card.
I used the Branches 3D embossing folder on indigo card stock and applied white pigment ink over the embossed paper.
After that, I die-cut the Branch from the Branches 3D embossing folder and die Combo and embossed the branch cut on the embossing folder as well.
Next, I die-cut the ornaments from white, red, green, and blue glitter card stock. Then, I colored the white ornaments using ink blending brushes and attached them to the top of the glitter-cut ornaments.
I used the Essential Tag Accessories for the card sentiments. I did this while hot-foiling it onto the red card stock, and finished with clear gems on the ornaments.
