Hello, crafty friends! This is
Emily Leiphart and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog, featuring the
Sealed 3D Christmas Collection. I love gift wrap and the products in this new collection make it so easy to dress up a sweet little surprise at parties and for visitors who pop in during the holiday season.
I absolutely adore the
Ribbon Box so I decided to make an ombré set of boxes which will be perfect for candy or even some baked goods. During the holidays, I love baking cookies and sharing them with assorted chocolates so these boxes are the perfect way to surprise and delight friends and family.
My color palette includes Poppy, Nectar, Sea Glass, Tidepool, and Juniper, with a splash of gold. I started by die-cutting the
Ribbon Box from Tidepool, Juniper and Sea Glass. Then I used coordinating inks to press the
Sealed Poinsettia Stems into one side of the box before assembling.
To add a splash of color to each box, I die-cut the poinsettias, holly leaves, and gold glitter evergreen sprigs from
Holiday Blooms. I die-cut the holly leaves from the same colors as the three boxes but rotated them so they’d provide a contrast.
Next, I heat foiled the round sentiments from
Sealed Poinsettia Stems in
Gold Hot Foil on Nectar cardstock which matches the centres of the poinsettia. I left a bit more space at the top when die cutting with the coordinating circle die and used a 1/8” hole punch at the top for the ribbon.
Next, I cut a substantial length of
Vivant Circle Gold Metallic Cord so it would be easy to work with. I looped it around the handle of the box three times, added the circle sentiment tag and tied the cord.
The box looked like it could use something extra so I pulled out the gorgeous bow from
Bouquet Full of Joy. I heat foiled three in
Gold Hot Foil on the same cardstock as the boxes and holly leaves, again rotating them so each of the colors Sea Glass, Tidepool, and Juniper are represented on each box in different areas.
