Hi there, this is
Annie Williams, and today I’m excited to take you step-by-step through creating this bright and colorful birthday card made with the new
Copperplate Happy Everything Collection by Paul Antonio. With four gorgeous BetterPress sentiment sets to choose from, this collection makes easy work of creating elegant cards for a variety of occasions.

Start by applying
Matte Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the “Happy Birthday” plate from the
Happy Birthday & Everything BetterPress Plate & Die Set and the
Glimmer Hot Foil System.

Die cut the foiled sentiment out using the coordinating die from the set (I like to use
Best Ever Craft Tape to hold my die in my place, but be sure to keep the tape off any foiled areas so you don’t remove any foiling!).

Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and blend Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over a little more than half of the panel using a
Large Blending Brush.

Blend Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink over the other half of the panel, overlapping slightly in the center to ensure a smooth color transition.

Emboss the ink-blended panel using the
Floating Balloons 3D Embossing Folder. The
Universal Plate System makes it so easy to figure out the sandwich for these thicker embossing folders…just an “A” plate and “D” plate are all that are needed!

To bring out some of the embossed details a bit more, lightly rub a
white pigment ink pad over the raised areas on the panel. Try to keep the ink pad fairly level white swiping to avoid any excess ink splotches.

Next, trim the edges of the panel down to a final size of 4” x 5.25”. Since embossing can cause your cardstock to “shrink” just a bit, I like to trim everything up in the end with a
guillotine trimmer for really precise sizing. Adhere the panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base using foam adhesive.

Die-cut flowers and leaves out of white,
Rainforest,
Carrot,
Wild Berry, and
Mirror Gold Cardstock using the
Be Bold Blooms Die Set.

Adhere the sentiment to the lower right corner of the card front with
foam squares, and then tuck the flowers around the sentiment to frame it using
foam squares again.

Add the leaves behind the flowers using
liquid glue.
Detail Tweezers always help me when I’m trying to arrange and place small die-cuts onto a card!

Add
Gold Mix Gems to embellish. (A craft pick works great for picking up and placing adhesive gems.)

The gorgeous script sentiments in the Copperplate Happy Everything Collection can be dressed up or down to suit your recipient. Try bold colors and fun die-cuts for an unexpected look!
