Hello crafty friends! It’s Jung here, and I am back with another guest post on the Spellbinders blog. For my projects today, I’m working with the
Nichol’s Needlework collection. As a needlework lover, I jumped at the chance to work with this collection.
First, I started out by die-cutting the
hoop elements for all three cards. I die-cut the perforated circles, the hoop frames, and the gold screw pieces. I wanted the hoop frames to be slightly raised, so I cut extra and glued 2 together for each card. I also glued the hoop screw to the back of the frame. Then, I die-cut several embroidery scissors, needles, and spools from the
Needleworker Tool Kit die set for each of the cards.

For my first card, I decided to use the
Faux Embroidered Stockings. I die-cut the spruce branch and the stocking pieces for 3 of the stockings. I assembled the stockings, glued them to the branch, and then adhered the branch and stockings to the indigo perforated circle.

For the background, I ink-blended a white cardstock panel using 2 aqua-colored inks, and then trimmed it using an A2 rectangle die. I stamped the Christmas stocking sentiment from the
Nichol’s Needlework sentiments stamp set to the lower left corner of the panel. Then, I adhered the perforated circle and the frame with the screw. To finish off the card, I added a silver needle with a piece of red thread, and gold embroidery scissors.

For my next card, I used the
Faux Embroidered Spruce. I diecut and glued together the tree elements, diecut the ornaments and star, glued them to the tree, and then adhered the tree to the perforated circle.

For the background, I used 2 green inks to ink blend the background, trimmed it with the same A2 rectangle die, and then stamped the Christmas sentiment to the bottom left corner of the panel. I adhered the perforated circle and the hoop frame and screw to the background panel. To finish off this card, I added 2 thread spools and a silver needle with red thread.

For my last card, I used the
Faux Embroidered Pumpkins die set. I diecut 2 pumpkins, one from cream cardstock and the other from orange cardstock, as well as the stems, greenery and flowers. I added a little bit of ink blending to the pumpkins, then glued on the stems, greenery and flowers. I arranged the pumpkins on the brown perforated circle and glued them down.

For the background of this card, I used 3 aqua and teal inks to ink blend the panel. I trimmed the card panel and then stamped the Harvest sentiment to the bottom left corner of the panel. Like the other cards, I adhered the perforated circle, and the frame with screw. To finish off this card, I adhered gold embroidery scissors and then added gold gems to the center of the flowers.
I really enjoyed working with this collection and making these cards. I actually have made an embroidered Christmas tree with beads as the ornaments that looks just like the second card I made. I hope you were inspired by my cards today. Make sure you check out the Spellbinders website for
