Create a Fabric Covered Journal with Contour Steel Rule Dies

Create a Fabric Covered Journal with Contour Steel Rule Dies

Hello everyone! It's Linda Lucas here and I am excited to be sharing a fun tutorial using Spellbinders® Contour™ Steel Rule Dies with different types of materials. I was so impressed with how easily the materials cut, and not just one layer but SIX with each material layer adhered to cardboard! It was like slicing butter - you have to love that!! Fabulous that the Contour™ Steel Rule Dies can cut a huge range of materials.
Contour™ Steel Rule Dies are compatible with many machines. To view a chart to learn more, CLICK: Contour Steel Rule Die Compatibility Chart. So let's get started! INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Apply liquid glue over blue card stock and spreading with a flat edge tool. NOTE: an expired Credit Card works well. 2. Adhere the fabric material to the card stock 3. Remove air bubbles using Tool 'n One™ Brayer Tip. 4. Repeat this with four more sheets. Let dry. 5. Place three sheets of fabric/card stock onto the Change-a-Page Contour™ Steel Rule Dies by Seth Apter and run through the Platinum™ machine with a standard cutting plate on both side of the die. Repeat with the remaining two sheets. 6. The Platinum™ machine is capable of cutting six layers at a time but each of these layers are equivalent to two, so I limited each pass through to three. 7. Place the Tab Die onto the magnetic based of the Change-a-Page Contour™ Steel Rule Dies by Seth Apter, layer three of the fabric/card stock onto the Tab Die and run through the Platinum™ machine. 8. Adhere Extreme Double-Sided Tape to the inside of the tabs./ 9. Adhere the tab to each divider, lining up the spacing to ensure each tab is placed under each other when in the folder. 10. Cut the title from denim using the SR-054 Say It Like You Mean It Contour™ Steel Rule Dies. 11. Adhere to the covered 3 Ring Binder by Seth Apter using liquid glue. 12. Adhere rose braid Trim, followed by a strip of denim and then corrugated cardboard. 13. Glue the bird embellishment above the denim title and you're done! xxxx Spellbinders Supplies: Other: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® (Extreme Double Sided Tape 1/4″ (6 yds)); Imagine Crafts (Memento Ink – Espresso Truffle); Sanding Block; Want2Scrap© Bling; Blue Cardstock; Liquid Glue; Floral Material; Denim; Rose Braid Trim; Corrugated Cardboard; Bird Embellishment
