Sometimes the Smallest Things Take Up the Most Room in Your Heart: A Pooh Hanging for Gifting

Sometimes the Smallest Things Take Up the Most Room in Your Heart: A Pooh Hanging for Gifting

Hello, folks! This is Jennifer Ingle here with you today, and I am so excited to be sharing a super fun (and rather simple) stitching project using the Stitched Classic Pooh Collection. If you are a Winnie the Pooh die-hard, you may have recognized that quote in my title. It holds so much truth. Sometimes a small handmade gift can say so very much to your recipient. That is why I created this adorable hanging. Sometimes the Smallest Things Take Up the Most Room in Your Heart: A Pooh Hanging for Gifting, S6-263, BP-285 I stitched two of the Pooh character to add to my hanging. You can see I chose to not add stuffing, but if you wanted to, you could totally make his belly a bit chubby with a touch of fluff. A couple of buttons and the blanket stitch add to that homemade feel that is just perfect for hanging in the room of a brand new baby. Sometimes the Smallest Things Take Up the Most Room in Your Heart: A Pooh Hanging for Gifting, S6-263, BP-285 While I did stitch the main pieces, I used fabric glue to secure some of the details and smaller bits like the bees. This allows for some thick layers and a great finished look. Sometimes the Smallest Things Take Up the Most Room in Your Heart: A Pooh Hanging for Gifting, S6-263, BP-285 Naturally, I couldn’t just leave it at the handmade gift. I simply had to add a matching custom card. I love that these stitching dies do not include the holes. It allows you to not only use any stitching techniques you choose, but it also means you can use them for paper crafting seamlessly. A foiled sentiment finishes off the simple design perfectly. Sometimes the Smallest Things Take Up the Most Room in Your Heart: A Pooh Hanging for Gifting, S6-263, BP-285 Thank you so much for joining me today. This was a really fun project, and I hope you are inspired to give these stitching dies a try. Make it work for whatever level of fabric crafter you are! Have a crafty day! Craft & Unwind With Happier Hour!

Craft & Unwind With Happier Hour!

Hello crafty friends, Rachel Alvarado here, and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders Blog sharing some festive cards using products from the new Happier Hour Collection. I absolutely love this collection because it covers a variety of occasions with a bunch of coordinating sentiments to choose from. CRAFT & UNWIND WITH HAPPIER HOUR! S5-720, S5-721, S5-724, S5-725, BP-336, BP-337, BP-338

ICE CREAM SHAKER CARD

My first card features the adorable Fountain Wishes Etched Dies. My inspiration for this card came from my sweet little blue Parakeet (aka Blueberry), who spends many hours a day sitting on my shoulder, chatting away. When I first saw the bird in this set, I knew that I had to add him to my project. CRAFT & UNWIND WITH HAPPIER HOUR! S5-725, S5-721, BP-338 Because this set came with a balloon die, I decided to make it a colorful birthday-themed card. I die cut all my images from colored card stock and added some light shading to some of the pieces with similar colored Distress Ink for added depth and dimension. I also added a blend of Kitsch Flamingo, Salvaged Patina, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks for my background. To give my background some texture, I spattered some white ink using diluted Splatter White Opaque Watercolor Paint. CRAFT & UNWIND WITH HAPPIER HOUR! S5-725, S5-721, BP-338 To create the shaker portion of my card, I die cut a rectangular frame six times from white card stock using the new Linear Touch Rectangles and Tag Etched Dies.  I adhered five of the frames together with liquid adhesive and attached them to my 4.25” x 5.5” ink-blended card base. I then added some sequin embellishments and sealed off the frame with a 4.25” x 5.5” piece of clear acetate, followed by the final white frame.  I adhered my images on top of the acetate with dimensional foam adhesive tape, and finished off my card with a sentiment from the Fountain Wishes Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set and some Glossy Accents on top of my chocolate drizzle to make it look more realistic.

MARGARITAS & CINCO DE MAYO

My second card showcases the Sip Sip Ole’ Etched Dies. Even if you don’t like margaritas, how can you resist that adorable little sombrero? This set is truly filled with so many fun dies! Aside from the sombrero (which is my favorite die grouping of the set), I also adore the cute little strawberries, lime slice, and avocado (which is not featured on my card).  Another fun touch is the “salted” rim around the glass. I used some glue and chunky white glitter to resemble the salt and made sure to do two layers of glitter to get some extra dimension and texture. CRAFT & UNWIND WITH HAPPIER HOUR! S5-724, BP-337 I once again die cut all my images from colored card stock and added some shading with ink blending to some of the pieces.  To color my margarita, I ink blended a piece of white card stock with Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, and Spun Sugar Distress Inks.  I used the largest die from the Linear Touch Rectangles & Tag Etched Dies to die cut a piece of pink card stock for my card base.  I also added some light blending of Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide for my background.  For my sentiment, I used the Sip Sip Ole’ Sentiments BetterPress Plate and Die Set that I had heat embossed with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder onto a piece of black card stock. I’D LIKE TO MAKE A TOAST

CRAFT & UNWIND WITH HAPPIER HOUR! S5-720, BP-336 My final card features the A Special Toast Etched Dies. This set is so pretty! When my daughter saw the die-cut ring inside the glass, she asked me if she could have it.  It’s hard to see in the photo, but in the right lighting, the ring sparkles and shines.  For the base of the ring, I used some mirror gold card stock, and for the diamond, I used some glittery white card stock.  Unlike my first two cards, I didn’t add any ink blending to this card except for my background of Milled Lavender Distress Oxide Ink. CRAFT & UNWIND WITH HAPPIER HOUR! S5-720, BP-336 I had a lot of fun creating this card. The large flowers really compliment the décor of the glass, and that top hat adds the perfect touch. There are also a fun pair of stilettos that you can create and add to your card front if you desire. I paired this set with the A Special Toast Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! I hope you enjoyed my cards today and will give this collection a closer look! I would love to see what you create using this set, so please feel free to tag me @theunpamperedstamper on Instagram if you do so! Happier Hour Collection With Brenda Noelke

Hello, crafty friends!! Brenda Noelke here from My PaperCut Creations! I’m thrilled to be a guest on the Spellbinders blog today! I’m sharing three cards featuring the Happier Hour Collection with you today! We are traveling to Mexico in December, so the Sip Sip Ole’ Etched Die Set really spoke to me! S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157

HERE’S TO GOOD TIMES AND GREAT FRIENDS

S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157 I began by die-cutting the element for my focal point using the Sip Sip Ole’ Die Set. For the outline of the glass, I used matte silver cardstock from the Treasured Antique Silver cardstock pack, and for the salt, I used the glitter cardstock from the same pack. The colors of Color Wheel cardstock that I used for the rest of the die-cuts: Peridot, Rainforest, Fern, Tutu, Wildberry, Seaside, Teal Topaz, Blue Spruce, Saffron, Beeswax, Fog, and Classic White. I adhered all the individual elements together using liquid glue. S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157 For the background, I used the Linear Touch Rectangles and Tags Die Set. I love all the options with this die set!! You can create frames or die-cut each individually and layer them!! The third largest die in the set was cut from Seaside cardstock, the second largest from white, and the largest die from Blue Spruce. They were stacked and adhered together using liquid glue. The margarita and accessories were adhered with a combination of liquid glue and foam squares. S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157 The sentiment, from the Sip Sip Ole’ Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set, was pressed onto white cardstock with black pigment ink using the BetterPress System. Once dry, it was cut out with the die and adhered with a combination of thin foam squares and liquid glue. Gems from the Crystal Mix Color Essentials Gems Pack finish off the card.

CHEERS TO SPRINKLES, WRINKLES & TINKLES

S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157 My second card features the Martini Mood BetterPress Plate & Die Set. Doesn’t this sentiment make you giggle?!? LOVE it!! The image was pressed onto white cardstock with Copic-friendly black ink and the BetterPress, colored with Copic markers, then cut out with the die. S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157 I used the same dies from the Linear Touch Rectangles and Tags Die Set to create the background. This time, they were die-cut from Seaside, Tutu, and Classic White cardstock. I also die-cut the fourth largest die from vellum and splattered it with white bleed-proof ink. Once dry, they were layered and adhered together, and the martini was adhered with liquid glue. S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157 The sentiment is from the same set. It was pressed onto white cardstock with black pigment ink using the BetterPress System, cut out with the die, and popped up with foam squares. Several Pink Color Essential Gems finish this one off.

HAVE THE SWEETEST BIRTHDAY

S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157 This card was created with the Fountain Wishes Etched Die Set, along with the strawberry and flower dies from the Sip Sip Ole’ Die Set, and a sentiment from the Fountain Wishes Sentiments BetterPress Plate and Die Set. All the elements for the focal point were cut from Blush, Tutu, Pomegranate, Truffle, Fawn, Alabaster, Rainforest, Beeswax, Fog, Classic White, and matte silver cardstock. All the pieces were adhered together using liquid glue. S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157 For the background on this one, I die-cut a panel of Alabaster cardstock with the second largest die in the Linear Touch Rectangles and Tags Die Set and embossed it with the Waffle Cone 3D Embossing Folder. I blended a bit of Tea Dye Distress Ink onto the center with a large blending brush and faded the color toward the outside of the panel. I trimmed a panel of white cardstock slightly larger and die-cut a panel of Teal Topaz cardstock with the largest die in the Linear Touch Rectangles and Tags Die Set, then stacked and adhered them all together with liquid glue. All the sundae die-cuts were arranged and adhered with liquid glue, as well. S5-724, BP-337, S5-721, BP-326, S5-725, BP-338, E3D-157 The sentiment, from the Fountain Wishes Sentiments BetterPress Plate & Die Set, was pressed onto white cardstock with aqua dye ink and the BetterPress. It was cut out with the die, then adhered with a combination of thin foam squares and liquid glue. A sprinkling of Pink Color Essential Gems adds a bit of sparkle and completes this card.
