Elegant Card Ideas with the Spellbinders Regal Reflections Collection

Hello everyone! Galina Filippenko is here (@galachko on Instagram), and I’m so happy to be guesting on Spellbinders blog. I have a few cards to share with you that I created using the absolutely stunning Regal Reflections Collection. I’ve had so much fun playing with these products. If you love texture backgrounds, layering elements, and elegant details (with a little whimsy thrown in), you’re going to love these cards!

Texture, Florals and Cute Pup

Let’s Talk Texture: Florals, Layers, and Lovely Details, E3D-147, S4-1465, S4-1466, S5-695, STP-274 For my first card, I decided to mix three new products: the Regal Blooms Die Set, the Regal Pair Die Set, and the Regal Lattice Embossing Folder. I always enjoy combining dies and embossing folders because the texture instantly adds interest to the card background. I started by embossing a pink cardstock using the Regal Lattice embossing folder. Once the design was embossed, I gently rubbed white pigment ink over the raised areas. This simple step really highlights the texture and makes all those beautiful details stand out. It’s one of my favorite ways to add a soft, elegant look without a lot of effort. Let’s Talk Texture: Florals, Layers, and Lovely Details, E3D-147, S4-1465, S4-1466, S5-695, STP-274 Next, I die-cut the flowers and the vase from turquoise cardstock. I truly enjoy working with Spellbinders cardstock — it comes in such gorgeous shades, and each color includes light, medium, and dark tones. That makes it so easy to create realistic and dimensional die-cut flowers. You can mix and match the shades or even layer them for extra depth. Now for the star of the show… the adorable dog! I used light peach cardstock and one of the mirrored dog’s dies from the Regal Pair Die Set. Fun tip: I swapped the tail from the opposite dog die to give my pup a slightly different look. I love it when small tweaks make something feel extra special. To assemble the card, I foam-mounted all the elements onto the embossed background. I finished it with a sentiment from the Lasting Impression Sentiments, I heat embossed it with white embossing powder on black cardstock. The crisp white sentiment really pops against the dark background and ties everything together beautifully.

Watercolor Fun and Gold Details

Let’s Talk Texture: Florals, Layers, and Lovely Details, E3D-147, S4-1465, S4-1466, S5-695, STP-274 For my second card, I reached for the Regal Lattice Embossing Folder again, but this time I used the floral pattern. I used it with the watercolor paper, to be able to color it. I colored the raised flowers using watercolor paints, keeping the colors soft and elegant. The real fun, though, was the background! I applied a light brown watercolor paint over the entire background parts — including the vertical and horizontal detail lines in the design. Once the panel was completely dry, I went back and highlighted those vertical and horizontal lines with my favorite gold marker: Uchida DecoColor Premium Gold Metallic Marker. This is the same marker I usually use for coloring wax seals, and it adds very beautiful metallic shine. That subtle gold detail really elevates the entire card and makes it feel extra special. Let’s Talk Texture: Florals, Layers, and Lovely Details, E3D-147, S4-1465, S4-1466, S5-695, STP-274 To finish this card, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Lasting Impression Sentiments directly onto the colored panel using gold embossing powder. I love how the gold sentiment coordinates perfectly with the gold details in the background.

Elegant Arch Card Design

Let’s Talk Texture: Florals, Layers, and Lovely Details, E3D-147, S4-1465, S4-1466, S5-695, STP-274 For my third card, I wanted to try something a little bit different, so I created an arch-shaped card. I used the two largest dies from the Arch Punch Die Set to cut a light blue frame. I foam-mounted this frame onto light brown cardstock to give the card some dimension. Then came the decorating — my favorite part! I added flowers and stems from the Regal Blooms Die Set, I cut the flowers from both regular white cardstock and white glitter cardstock. Mixing plain and glitter cardstock is such an easy way to add sparkles without overwhelming the design. I played around with the placement, mixing and matching the flowers and adding a few extra leaves to the stems. The goal was to create a beautiful floral cluster flowing from the top of the arch all the way down to the bottom. I really love how elegant and balanced it turned out. Let’s Talk Texture: Florals, Layers, and Lovely Details, E3D-147, S4-1465, S4-1466, S5-695, STP-274 To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment using the VersaMark Black Onyx Ink. It’s simple, clean, and lets the florals shine. I hope you enjoyed taking a look at these cards and maybe found a little inspiration along the way. Thank you so much for stopping by and spending some crafty time with me today. Have a wonderful day and happy cardmaking! Cute Critter Card Ideas with the Simon Hurley Sending Hugs Collection by Spellbinders

Cute Critter Card Ideas with the Simon Hurley Sending Hugs Collection by Spellbinders

Hello, friends! This is Jingle (Jennifer Ingle) with you today, and I am so excited to be sharing the latest collection from Simon Hurley and Spellbinders Sending Hugs! This collection is full of super cute critters ready to give out ALL of the hugs. Giant Critter Hugs are Always a Good Idea, E3D-163, S5-732, S5-734, STN-118, S5-733 Can you EVEN with these cuties? I paired them with the Puffy Hearts embossing folder, which I was able to use for three different background looks! Giant Critter Hugs are Always a Good Idea, E3D-163, S5-732, S5-734, STN-118, S5-733 For my first card in this collection, I chose to create the Birthday Bear as a panda. The set is really fantastic, as it offers a few options so you can make the most of it, getting different designs out of the same set of dies! The background for this one uses the Puffy Hearts 3-D embossing folder combined with the Puffy Hearts stencils for a bright and colorful look that is the perfect backdrop for a black and white bear. Giant Critter Hugs are Always a Good Idea, E3D-163, S5-732, S5-734, STN-118, S5-733 These critters had me so excited, I just had to make them ALL! With that in mind, I decided to use all three of the critter sets for my next card. I created a cat, a dog, and a sweet brown bear for this one, and it is just too much fun! The Puffy Hearts over the full design make a nice subtle background, and I cut the hearts from the Darling Dog set to add a splash of love across the card. The sentiment on this one is extra fun! I used the dies in the set to cut out Happy Birthday and then simply ‘borrowed’ the H and the I for a custom sentiment that suited my card perfectly! The extra accents in these sets are also super fun. I simply could not resist putting that cute martini in Cat’s hand! Giant Critter Hugs are Always a Good Idea, E3D-163, S5-732, S5-734, STN-118, S5-733 And finally, I created a nice and simple design as my third design. I created the dog from Darling Dog again, this time, skipping the beard, adding a collar, and changing up his face a bit, too! I used the Puffy Hearts 3-D embossing folder on a portion of my background and added the dog to the bottom to ground him. This collection has 100% hit my favorites list immediately! I cannot get enough of how adorable these turn out every single time! Choose your favorite or pick up the whole collection - you will NOT be disappointed! Handmade Birthday and Baby Cards Using the Classic Pooh Baby Collection

Handmade Birthday and Baby Cards Using the Classic Pooh Baby Collection

Hello, crafty friends! I am so excited to be back on the blog to share the Classic Pooh Birthday collection with you! This collection is so nostalgic for someone like me who grew up with the books and the shows. Nothing says “Happy Birthday” to a new little one like Pooh! Birthdays with Pooh Bear, BP-342, BP-343, E3D-164, S4-1513, S4-1519, S4-1520 I used some of the embossing folders, Better Press plates, stamps, and dies to create a set of three cards. Let’s take a look!

STAMPED BACKGROUND

Birthdays with Pooh Bear, BP-342, BP-343, E3D-164, S4-1513, S4-1519, S4-1520 I began my first card by reaching for the Pooh image in one of the stamp sets. Such a sweet and simple image! Paired with the sentiments from the set, it becomes the perfect card for a new baby or a toddler’s birthday. I stamped out a design for the background using the little flower image, and then colored it in with some light watercolors. I also added some dot accents with just a regular felt-tipped pen. Simple! Birthdays with Pooh Bear, BP-342, BP-343, E3D-164, S4-1513, S4-1519, S4-1520 The Pooh Bear image is also stamped and colored with watercolor. After the coloring was dry, I went and stamped the sentiment next to it, added the scalloped border from the die in the collection, and wrapped a bit of twine around it all. Popped up on foam adhesive over the background, I think it's so sweet and simple and would make a great addition to a gift for a baby shower!

EMBOSSING WITH KANGA AND ROO

My second card features the embossing folder paired with the Kanga and Roo die set. I ran the embossing folder through my Platinum 6 with some white cardstock. I left the cardstock un-colored, but you could absolutely go ahead and add color if you’d like! Embossing folders are fun to ink blend over, or add color first and then emboss. Both ways work! Birthdays with Pooh Bear, BP-342, BP-343, E3D-164, S4-1513, S4-1519, S4-1520 I have the embossed background popped up on foam adhesive against a light blue cardstock for the base. Now, for Kanga and Roo! I used the die set to cut out all the pieces with white cardstock. I wanted to continue with the watercolor look of the cards, so after the pieces were cut out, I watercolored them and let them dry. Then, I assembled them using liquid glue. I wanted little Roo to be in the arms of his mama, so I added him with a little foam adhesive for more dimension. Can never have enough dimension! I also added the little accessories like the mug and handkerchief around Roo’s neck. For the sentiment, I used the Better Press sentiments and cut them out with the coordinating dies. Then, I added them using foam adhesive. I love the question and answer sentiment; it gives Kanga a Roo a little conversation on the front of our card.

A MAP OF THE HUNDRED ACRE WOODS

Birthdays with Pooh Bear, BP-342, BP-343, E3D-164, S4-1513, S4-1519, S4-1520 I do not know how to tell you how much I love this map of the Hundred Acre Woods! This map is a Better Press plate, so I used it on some white Better Press paper. The map itself looks amazing, even if you choose not to color it! But color it I did. I added light touches of watercolor to the map. I didn’t worry about using watercolor paper since the map is pretty small and detailed anyway. You don’t need to do much blending of colors on the map. I chose to just dot in a mix of colors here and there to add dimension, especially on the trees. Birthdays with Pooh Bear, BP-342, BP-343, E3D-164, S4-1513, S4-1519, S4-1520 Since the map itself has a lot going on for the eye to look at, I wanted to keep the rest of the card fairly simple. I added a vellum strip of paper that I cut a banner notch into the bottom of, and then I colored and cut out the stork, and added it to the front with foam adhesive. The sentiment on the banner is stamped and then embossed with black embossing powder. And, to tie it all together (no pun intended), I added a little twine bow to the bundle on the stork. So that’s it! A look at the set of cards I created using the Classic Pooh Birthday Collection. I hope you enjoy these things as much as I do! Until next time, Marie [spellbinders-supplies]BP-342,BP-343,E3D-164,S4-1513,S4-1519,S4-1520,PE-104,BPC-002,BP-001,BPI-043[/spellbinders-supplies]
