Easy Baby & Birthday Cards with Simple Stories Say Cheese Classic Pooh

Easy Baby & Birthday Cards with Simple Stories Say Cheese Classic Pooh

Hello crafty friends! It’s Lisa Tilson, and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog with you today. I’m here to share some ideas for easy cards using the Simple Stories Say Cheese Classic Pooh Birthday Collection. This collection contains two clear stamp sets with their coordinating dies, and I use both sets on my cards today. It also features a 3D embossing folder which creates alphabet blocks that you can use to personalise your cards – so cute! There are some border dies along with two die sets, which feature Kanga and Roo as well as a highchair and other baby accessories. You also have two BetterPress sets – one called The Hundred Acre Wood and the other is a sentiment set. So, let’s dive into the cards.

Oh, Hello There Baby!

For this card, I am using the two stamp sets – Hello Baby and Bundle of Joy, along with the Baby Blocks 3D Embossing Folder. Create Three Cute and Simple Welcome Baby Cards, SS25824, SS25823, E3D-164, S4-1500, S4-1513, S4-1520, S4-501, S4-1476, S5-647, BP-025
  1. I started off by stamping my images and sentiment onto Classic White ColorWheel Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and my MISTI Stamping Tool.
  2. I coloured them with Copic Markers using Y19, Y08, and Y13 for Pooh. The rattle he is holding was coloured with C1, BG34, BG11, and BG10. The flowers were coloured with BG32, BG11, BG10, Y19, Y08 and Y13.
  3. I decided to leave the heart white as I didn’t want to introduce pink or red into the mix!
  4. Next, I cut all the images and sentiment out using the Hello Baby and Bundle of Joy Coordinating Dies.
Create Three Cute and Simple Welcome Baby Cards, SS25824, SS25823, E3D-164, S4-1500, S4-1513, S4-1520, S4-501, S4-1476, S5-647, BP-025
  1. I then cut some small squares of Tuscan, Beeswax, Waterfall, and Seaside ColorWheel Cardstock.
  2. Each square was placed individually into the Classic Pooh Baby Blocks 3D Embossing Folder, and I then trimmed them down to size using 9” Pro Shears.
  3. They were set to one side, and I took an A2 panel of Classic White Cardstock and ran it through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine with a rectangle die from Perfect Touch Rectangles and Tag Etched Dies.
  4. This panel was then adhered onto an A2 panel of Fog ColorWheel Cardstock using Bearly Art Glue.
Create Three Cute and Simple Welcome Baby Cards, SS25824, SS25823, E3D-164, S4-1500, S4-1513, S4-1520, S4-501, S4-1476, S5-647, BP-025
  1. I then added the blocks using some thin foam tape, followed by Pooh, the sentiment, the heart, and the flowers at the top.
  2. The other two flowers were adhered using liquid glue, and I had them peeking out from behind two of the blocks.
  3. I finished by adhering the panel onto an A2 top-folding white note card created from Classic White Cardstock.

Welcome Little One

My next card uses the Classic Pooh Baby Accessories Etched Dies, along with a previously released set called Classic Pooh Birthday Accessories Etched Dies. Create Three Cute and Simple Welcome Baby Cards, SS25824, SS25823, E3D-164, S4-1500, S4-1513, S4-1520, S4-501, S4-1476, S5-647, BP-025
  1. To begin, I die cut the pram from Baby Accessories Etched Dies from Beeswax, Tutu, Blush, Anchor, and Fog ColorWheel Cardstock.
  2. Using Bearly Art Glue, I adhered the die cuts together. I found it easier to assemble the wheels and the main section of the pram separately first and then add them onto the grey frame once they were completed.
  3. I set the pram to one side and then took the Classic Pooh Birthday Accessories Etched Dies and cut the pieces of the banner from Classic White, Beeswax, Saffron, Waterfall, and Tutu.

  1. Using my Tool ‘n One, I popped all the little pieces out of the flags and then adhered them onto the white banner die cuts using liquid glue.
  2. I popped some thin foam tape onto the back of each flag and onto the pram before adhering them onto a white panel that I had trimmed to 4” x 5.25” using a Guillotine Paper Trimmer.
  3. This panel was then added onto an A2 panel of Seaside Cardstock and then onto a top-folding white A2 note card.
Create Three Cute and Simple Welcome Baby Cards, SS25824, SS25823, E3D-164, S4-1500, S4-1513, S4-1520, S4-501, S4-1476, S5-647, BP-025
  1. For my sentiment, I used the Always and Forever Sentiment Strips Press Plate and Die Set.
  2. The plate was foiled onto Seaside ColorWheel Cardstock using Opaque Black Glimmer Hot Foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System. This plate foils all your sentiments in one pass, and the die then cuts them all out in one go too. So, I have lots ready for future projects!
  3. The sentiment was then popped onto my card using thin foam tape.
  4. To finish the card, I took a heart die from Hero Arts Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies and cut it from Classic White Cardstock. It was glued onto the side of the pram using Bearly Art Glue.

Hello, baby!

For my third card, I used Hello Baby and Bundle of Joy Stamp Sets as well as the Ribbon and Trim Etched Dies to make a shaker card. Create Three Cute and Simple Welcome Baby Cards, SS25824, SS25823, E3D-164, S4-1500, S4-1513, S4-1520, S4-501, S4-1476, S5-647, BP-025
  1. I started off by taking the Bundle of Joy Stamp Set and stamping Pooh onto some Classic White Cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and my MISTI.
  2. Piglet is in the Hello Baby Stamp Set, and he was stamped onto white card using the same black ink.
  3. Using Copic Markers, I coloured both images. For Pooh, I used Y19, Y08 and Y13. The duck was coloured using YR16, Y06, Y04, and Y02. Piglet was coloured with R22, R21, and R20. The bottle was coloured with E41 and Y02.
  4. They were both then cut out with the Hello Baby and Bundle of Joy Coordinating Dies and set to one side.
Create Three Cute and Simple Welcome Baby Cards, SS25824, SS25823, E3D-164, S4-1500, S4-1513, S4-1520, S4-501, S4-1476, S5-647, BP-025
  1. Next, I took an A2 panel of Classic White ColorWheel Cardstock and die cut a circle from it using Hero Arts Nesting Circle Infinity Dies.
  2. I placed the panel down onto an A2 white note card and drew a faint line around the circle. This is so that I can see the area that I will need to cover with my cardstock strips.
  3. Using the Ribbon and Trim Etched Dies, I cut three or four strips from Blush, Seaside, Classic White, and Beeswax Cardstock. Then they were adhered diagonally onto my note card using Bearly Art Glue.
  4. I then adhered a piece of acetate to the back of my circle window using liquid glue.
  5. The back of this window panel was then covered with thin foam tape. You could use two layers here so that you get double the height and more room for your sequins to move around. I used just one layer of foam tape, and mine still moves around.
Create Three Cute and Simple Welcome Baby Cards, SS25824, SS25823, E3D-164, S4-1500, S4-1513, S4-1520, S4-501, S4-1476, S5-647, BP-025
  1. I took some clear sparkling sequins from my stash and tipped a bunch into the centre of the striped note card.
  2. The backing tape was then removed from the window panel, and it was placed down over the sequins, securing them in place.
  3. I finished by stamping a sentiment from Hello Baby onto white card using black ink. I trimmed it using a Guillotine Paper Trimmer and adhered it onto the card using foam tape.
  4. Pooh and Piglet were then popped in place with more foam tape.
That brings us to the end of my three cards with this sweet collection. I hope they give you some inspiration for using it to create some simple birthday/welcome baby cards. If you would like to see more of my cards, I would love to have you join me over on my blog, Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube. In the meantime, thank you so much for joining me here on the Spellbinders blog today. I hope that you have a great day! Beginner-Friendly Baby Cards with the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Baby Collection

Hello there, Michelle Short here, and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog sharing three cards using the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Birthday collection. This wonderful collection is perfect for new baby cards, but can be used for other occasions too. I kept the cards simple, featuring lots of white space. These were pretty quick and easy to make, so perfect for beginner cardmakers. QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249

BABY

My first card uses Bundle of Joy Stamp & Die Bundle, along with the older Pooh’s Alphabet Dies. QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249 To make this card: QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249 QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249
  • Adhere panel onto A2-sized card base made from Malibu ColorWheel Cardstock using thin foam tape.
  • Adhere letters on top using Bearly Art Glue.
  • Adhere stamped Pooh on top, with thin foam tape, to complete the ‘b’ in baby.

WELCOME, LITTLE ONE

My next card uses Hello Baby Stamp & Die Bundle, along with The Hundred Acre Wood Press + Foil Plate. QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249 To make this card: QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249 TIP: When dry pressing plates onto cardstock, I do not feel the need to hold down the cardstock onto the platen with tape, but if you are worried about it shifting, you can do that. Here I used regular cardstock, rather than BetterPress cardstock, so I did not get as good of an impression compared to using the recommended cardstock.  However, I wanted this to be a subtle background, so I was happy with it. If you want a deeper impression, use BetterPress panels. QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249

HELLO, BABY

For my last project, I’m using the Hello Baby Stamp & Die Bundle again, but this time, combining it with Classic Pooh Baby Blocks 3D Embossing Folder. QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249 To make this card: QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249 TIP: Since I knew I only wanted the blocks with the letters to spell ‘baby’, I cut small pieces of cardstock and placed them over those areas of the embossing folder, instead of embossing whole panels. QUICK AND SIMPLE NEW BABY CARDS FEATURING CLASSIC POOH BIRTHDAY COLLECTION, BD-1012, BD-1042, BP-343, S4-1501, E3D-164, S6-249 I hope you have enjoyed seeing my projects today. I really enjoyed combining stamping with die cutting and embossing. There are die sets that I didn’t use in the collection, so if die cutting is your thing, I hope you will check them out! Thank you so much for visiting today. I hope you have a wonderful day! Birthday, Thank You & Graduation Cards Using Simon Hurley Sending Hugs Dies

Hello there, Michelle Short here, and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog sharing three cards using the Simon Hurley Sending Hugs collection. This wonderful collection is perfect for lots of different occasions, and what I love the most is that the die sets (bear, dog, and cat), are completely customizable. You can create multiple characters from just one die set! Whilst there are sentiment labels in the set for the characters to jump out from behind, I decided to use other sentiments for my cards today and have the characters jumping out of apertures instead. So fun! EASY APERTURE CARDS FEATURING SENDING HUGS COLLECTION, S5-732, S5-734,S5-733, E3D-163, S5-526, BP-270, BP-025, S4-1451

BIRTHDAY BEAR

My first card uses Birthday Bear Etched Dies. The bear can be made to be a standard black or brown bear, or can be made into a panda, which is what I have done today. EASY APERTURE CARDS FEATURING SENDING HUGS COLLECTION, S5-732, S5-734,S5-733, E3D-163, S5-526, BP-270, BP-025, S4-1451 To make this card:
TIP: I like to use either tweezers or an embellishment tool to help place small die cuts down.

DARLING DOG

My next card uses Darling Dog Etched Dies. The dog comes with different accessories that you can add to him like a collar, heart ears and an envelope that he can be holding. This set is perfect for love and Valentine’s Day, but I decided to go with a generic thank you card, pairing with the Puffy Hearts 3D Embossing Folder. TIP: Experiment with your Glimmer Hot System and see how much pressure is needed to get a good, foiled impression. With some plates I need to add an extra shim and some others, I heat up the plate twice.

CONGRATS CAT

For my last project, I’m using the Congrats Cat Etched Dies. This is another completely customizable set. You can add different markings to the cat (stripes or patches) or keep it one solid colour. There are also a few accessories in the set – a cocktail glass and a mortarboard. I am using the mortarboard today for a graduation card. • Add thin foam tape to the back of the cat and adhere to card, sliding the bottom of the cat under the bottom of the star.
