Hello, crafty friends! Brenda Noelke here from My PaperCut Creations! I’m super excited to be joining you on the Spellbinders blog today! I’m sharing three cards today featuring the Tabbed Classics Collection! Designed by Wendy Vecchi! There are so many ways to use this collection!! I kept the color combination similar and focused on the different ways to combine the elements from the collection. TABBED CLASSICS COLLECTION WITH BRENDA NOELKE, BD-0995, SDS-207, S6-260, E3D-143, S5-562, S5-131

HAPPY TO CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY

TABBED CLASSICS COLLECTION WITH BRENDA NOELKE, BD-0995, SDS-207, S6-260, E3D-143, S5-562, S5-131 I began by die-cutting the large floral bouquet and the largest single flower from white cardstock using the Thank You Bouquet 3D Floral & Stencil Bundle. I lined up the die-cuts in the embossing folder and ran them through my Platinum 6 with the adapter plate. Next, I lined up the die-cuts with the stencil and added color with blending brushes using Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed, and Black Soot Distress Inks. TABBED CLASSICS COLLECTION WITH BRENDA NOELKE, BD-0995, SDS-207, S6-260, E3D-143, S5-562, S5-131 For the background, I used the Linear Touch Rectangles and Tags Die Set. The second largest die was cut from white cardstock, and the largest die from Tutu. The white die-cut was embossed with the Polka Dot & Posy Duo 3D Embossing Folder. I love that you can use one side or the other or a combination of both! I lined the rectangle die-cut up in the center so I had the dots on the top and the posies on the bottom. The layers were stacked and adhered together using liquid glue. The bouquet was adhered with liquid glue, and the large flower was popped up with foam squares. TABBED CLASSICS COLLECTION WITH BRENDA NOELKE, BD-0995, SDS-207, S6-260, E3D-143, S5-562, S5-131 The sentiment, from the Tabbed In & Out Sentiments Stamp & Die Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with black pigment ink. Once dry, it was cut out with the coordinating die and adhered with foam squares, and this card was finished.

WISHING YOU THE MOST WONDERFUL DAY

TABBED CLASSICS COLLECTION WITH BRENDA NOELKE, BD-0995, SDS-207, S6-260, E3D-143, S5-562, S5-131 My second card also features the Thank You Bouquet 3D Floral & Stencil Bundle. This time I cut out all the single flowers, ran them through the Platinum 6 in the embossing folder, and added color to them using the same Distress Ink colors and the stencil. The leaves in the Essential Envelope Everyday Add-ons Etched Dies were cut from white cardstock and blended with Distress Inks.TABBED CLASSICS COLLECTION WITH BRENDA NOELKE, BD-0995, SDS-207, S6-260, E3D-143, S5-562, S5-131 For the background on this one, I die-cut one of the Essential Stylish Ovals Etched Dies from the center of a panel of Seaside cardstock and embossed it in the polka dot side of the Polka Dot & Posy Duo 3D Embossing Folder. I trimmed a bit from each edge and adhered it to a white A2 card base. The largest flower was popped up with foam squares, and the small ones and leaves were adhered with liquid glue. TABBED CLASSICS COLLECTION WITH BRENDA NOELKE, BD-0995, SDS-207, S6-260, E3D-143, S5-562, S5-131 The sentiment is from the Tabbed In & Out Sentiments Stamp & Die Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock with black pigment ink, cut out with the die, and popped up with foam squares. A trio of Pink Color Essential Gems finishes this one off.

SENDING HEARTFELT THANKS

TABBED CLASSICS COLLECTION WITH BRENDA NOELKE, BD-0995, SDS-207, S6-260, E3D-143, S5-562, S5-131 This card was created with the Essential Envelope Everyday Add-ons Etched Dies. The envelope dies were cut from Blush, Tutu, and white cardstock. The flowers were cut from Blush, Rainforest, Beeswax, Seaside, and Raven cardstock. The white die-cut was embossed with the polka dot side of the Polka Dot & Posy Duo 3D Embossing Folder.TABBED CLASSICS COLLECTION WITH BRENDA NOELKE, BD-0995, SDS-207, S6-260, E3D-143, S5-562, S5-131 For the background on this one, I die-cut a panel of Blush cardstock with the largest die in the A2 Matting Basics A Card Creator Die Set and embossed it with the posy side of the Polka Dot & Posy Duo 3D Embossing Folder. Scenic Light Up Card With Pear Blossom Press One Light

Hello everyone!  Rachel Alvarado here with a holiday scenic light-up card using a Pear Blossom Press One Light combined with the Woodland Scene Etched Dies.  I absolutely adore interactive cards, so I had a lot of fun creating this light-up card.  The One Lights are super easy to use, so I tried to keep my card basic so that the steps would be simple to follow if you have never made a card like this before. 1. Add 3D foam adhesive tape around the light and Oceanside blue panel to create a space between the light and the background sky panel.

How to Create Light Up Cards in an Easy Way

How to Create Light Up Cards in an Easy Way

Hello there, Michelle Short here, and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog today, sharing two cards using the Pear Blossom Press One Light- 2 Pack. These lights make adding fun light-up elements to your cards easy. No circuits involved! The first thing to know when using these lights is that you do need to do a little forward planning for your card design. Since the light and switch are on the same piece, you need to work out where both will be placed on your card.

MERRY + BRIGHT STAR

HOW TO CREATE LIGHT UP CARDS IN AN EASY WAY, 15077, S4-1451, S4-1452, BP-312, S6-261, S4-1496, S4-1375, STP-246 I started off by die cutting the star (on my card panel) that I want lit up and used that as a guide of where I wanted to place the other elements on the card, plus where the light and switch needed to be. There are stamps that say ‘press here’ or ‘push here’, and they are great, but I didn’t really want them on these cards, so I made sure to place elements on my cards that I could tell the recipient (on the inside of the card) to press. HOW TO CREATE LIGHT UP CARDS IN AN EASY WAY, 15077, S4-1451, S4-1452, BP-312, S6-261, S4-1496, S4-1375, STP-246 For this card, I will tell the recipient to press the centre of the poinsettia since the switch is located underneath it. Once you get the hang of how to place the lights, they are really easy to use! HOW TO CREATE LIGHT UP CARDS IN AN EASY WAY, 15077, S4-1451, S4-1452, BP-312, S6-261, S4-1496, S4-1375, STP-246 To make this card:
  • Die cut star from panel of 4.25” x 5.5” Classic White ColorWheel Cardstock.
  • Place this on top of the card base and use as guide for where to place the light. I drew a faint pencil mark around the sides of mine.
  • Place battery inside the light mechanism and add double-sided tape to the back. Adhere to card base. If you used a pencil, erase that pencil line after adhering the light in place.
  • Add two layers of vellum behind the opening of the star.
TIP: I used two layers of vellum since I wanted to make sure that you could not see the light mechanism through the vellum when the light wasn’t switched on. HOW TO CREATE LIGHT UP CARDS IN AN EASY WAY, 15077, S4-1451, S4-1452, BP-312, S6-261, S4-1496, S4-1375, STP-246 HOW TO CREATE LIGHT UP CARDS IN AN EASY WAY, 15077, S4-1451, S4-1452, BP-312, S6-261, S4-1496, S4-1375, STP-246 HOW TO CREATE LIGHT UP CARDS IN AN EASY WAY, 15077, S4-1451, S4-1452, BP-312, S6-261, S4-1496, S4-1375, STP-246 As you can see, the light shines through the vellum and lights up the star. I placed the light under where the holly falls, so that it gives a softer glow. I will write inside the card “press the centre of the poinsettia”.

MERRY + BRIGHT MICE

My next card uses the same lights, but this time, I thought it would be fun to show how you can use the light in a smaller way and light up the ornament. HOW TO CREATE LIGHT UP CARDS IN AN EASY WAY, 15077, S4-1451, S4-1452, BP-312, S6-261, S4-1496, S4-1375, STP-246 To make this card: HOW TO CREATE LIGHT UP CARDS IN AN EASY WAY, 15077, S4-1451, S4-1452, BP-312, S6-261, S4-1496, S4-1375, STP-246 HOW TO CREATE LIGHT UP CARDS IN AN EASY WAY, 15077, S4-1451, S4-1452, BP-312, S6-261, S4-1496, S4-1375, STP-246
  • Place panel on top of card base and draw pencil mark through the hole to know where to place light onto the card base.
  • Add battery to light mechanism and then adhere in place with light on the pencil mark and the switch directly above light (to where boy mouse’s nose will be).
  • Stamp sentiment from Season of Wonder Sentiments Clear Stamp Set onto panel using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink (the sentiment is longer than what I stamped, I masked some of the words off before stamping).
  • Adhere panel to card base with foam tape.
TIP: I masked off the part so the sentiment I did not want using Best Ever Craft Tape before inking up the stamp. I removed the tape and then stamped it first onto clear plastic, so that I knew if it would stamp well and in the right place, before stamping onto the card panel. I will write inside the card “press the boy mouse’s nose”. Some more ideas for these lights would be to use them as car headlights, the star on top of a tree, a reindeer’s nose … so many possibilities! I hope you have enjoyed seeing my projects today and I have inspired you to try adding these lights to projects. Apart from the slight forward planning, they are really easy to use and add a fun touch to cards! Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
